Renee & Garret – Open to anyone
She rested her head lightly against his shoulder as they waited to board the ship. It’d been a hard decision, but she’d decided to leave Amanda at home with the nanny, who’d been kind enough to be willing to watch her for the week. It’d taken a fair amount of work, but she’d moved all her cases, freeing a week and a few days for rest and relaxation.
With his suitcase in one hand and Renee's hand in the other Garret smiled to himself. He had never been one for Bermuda shorts or Hawaiian shirts but he was bound to encounter more than his fair share on this cruise. He had been reluctant to pull himself from work, but was glad that he finally had. A week away would do him good, he thought.
She turned her head and kissed his cheek softly. "This should be fun, hmm?"
"Yeah, sea sickness sounds like a real scream," he muttered
"You get seasick?"
"Yup," he admitted as the line moved ahead. "Me and Maggie took a cruise about a million years ago and I was sick the entire time. I'm hoping I can tough it out this time."
"You don't think you should have mentioned this...earlier?"
Garret puffed a laugh through his nose, "Don't worry about it," he said, "I'll be fine. Besides it'll be good for us to get away, you know, just you and me,"
She laughed. "Yeah, you and me. And the rest of the people from the morgue."
"It's a big boat," Garret reasoned pointing to the ship a head of them, "we don't have to see them if we don't want to."
"What do you think the chances of that happening are?"
He thought for a moment and smiled sheepishly, "not very good.
She just laughed.
He slipped their tickets out of his pocket just as they were about to board, he held his thumb under their room number and showed it Renee, "402," he announced, "is that down in steerage with Leonardo DiCaprio?" he joked before placing it in the attendant's outstretched hand.
"Did you seriously just make a Titanic reference?" She raised an eyebrow.
"Sorry," Garret laughed, "couldn't help myself."
She lightly pinched his side, not saying anything
"Ow!" Garret said more dramatically then necessary as they finally boarded the boat.
"Oh be quiet, you big baby." She laughed as she turned to kiss him.
He kissed her back, holding it longer than he knew he should have as the line of passengers shuffled to get by them. He laughed as he pulled away, "find our room?" he suggested.
"Good idea." She gave him a sultry smile.
He smiled as they headed off in a direction he hoped would lead them to room 402. When they finally got there he tossed their suitcases on the bed and scanned the room quickly, "Well this is...cozy," he said.
"Very." She closed the door behind her and leaned against it gently.
Garret turned to her and raised an eyebrow, "how long before this thing undocks?" he asked.
She looked at her watch. "About an hour."
"Hmph," Garret shrugged with a coy smile and turned back to his suitcase.
She raised an eyebrow slightly.
He slid his suitcase off the bed and sat himself down in the space he had made.
She smiled and walked over, lightly folding herself into his side.
He turned and pushed her hair over her shoulder and away from her face before brushing kisses along her neck.
She lightly dropped her head to the side, a soft smile on her face.
As he kissed his way to her ear he whispered, "I think I could get used to this boat,”
"Good." She turned her head and kissed him gently.
He smiled against her lips he deepened the kiss, his hand slowly sliding up her leg and tugging at the bottom of her shirt.
She lightly cupped his cheek, not breaking the kiss.
After he'd pulled her top free from her pants with one hand he went to work on its buttons.
She slid her hand down his neck and chest, letting it fall to his lap with a smirk.
When he unfastened the final button he rolled her shirt off her shoulders, letting his fingers graze lightly on her skin. As the shirt fell away he looked down at her chest. He met her eyes again a moment later with a quizzical arch of his eyebrow. "This new?" he asked, tracing the lace edge of her bra.
She looked down, barely resisting the urge to roll her eyes. "Mmhmm." Obviously, seeing as my chest's bigger. She looked up with a smirk. "You like?"
"Yeah," he said with a smile as he reached around her back, unhooked it and tossed it to the side, "it's great."
She smiled lightly, kissing him again.
He broke away from her then and stood, kicking off his shoes and peeling off his clothes until only his boxer shorts were left.
"Eager, aren't we?" She laughed as she slipped out of her skirt.
"Well when this boat starts moving I just might be put out of commission," he explained with a smile, "so I figure we ought to make the most of this time don't you?"
"Well, if that happens, I'll just have to think of ways to make you feel better." She leaned back, beckoning him back with a finger.
He planted one knee between her legs and leaned down over her slowly. He stopped and smiled half and inch before his mouth could reach hers again.
"What?" She asked quietly.
"Nothing" he whispered with a quick shake of his head.
She smiled softly. "I love you."
"I love you too," he said and finally let his lips fall down on hers
She smiled against his lips.
Garret trailed his lips away from her mouth and over the rest of her body, kissing a line down her neck, and along her torso. When he reached her hip he hooked one finger into her panties and pulled them off.
"Garret.." She sighed his name softly, reaching down and working his boxers off. "Make love to me?" She asked quietly.
He nodded ever so slightly, maneuvered over her again, and slipped softly inside her.
They made love slowly, taking time to discover subtleties in each other’s bodies that they hadn't noticed before.
When they'd finished Garret collapsed beside her and pressed his mouth to her ear, "good vacation, I think," he said in a playful whisper
"Well, it is so far." She panted softly, with a laugh. "But I think we actually should leave the cabin at some point."
"I guess," he sighed and brushed a kiss against her bare shoulder
She lightly trailed her fingertips up and down his forearm. "We should probably do that now, come to think of it."
"I guess," Garret said again. He kissed her once more and climbed off the bed.
She ran a hand through her hair as she slid off the bed, going over to her suitcase to get more cruise-y clothing.
Garret slid back into his blue jeans and pulled a t-shirt over his head. When he was dressed he leaned against the door and watched and waited as Renee finished. It never failed to amaze him how long it took women to get ready.
After buttoning up her sleeveless blouse, she grabbed her make-up and walked into the washroom to fix her face and hair, partially just to torment him by making him wait
"C'mon," Garret groaned with the impatience of a five year old.
She laughed softly, rolling her eyes.
He gave her two minutes before he called for her to hurry. "What the hell is taking so long?" he asked with playful annoyance, "If I miss the buffet because of you...."
She just shook her head as she put her brush down, walking back out. "I'm done, I'm done. Ready to go?"
"Yeah," Garret said as if she had just asked the stupidest question he'd ever heard. She hadn't of course, but it was close. With smile he opened the door and held it for her to walk through
